On the night of July 9, Russian terrorists launched 741 aerial targets against Ukraine, including 728 UAVs, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

During the attack, Russian forces launched:

  • 728 Shahed UAVs and decoy drones from the directions of the Russian cities Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Kursk, Oryol, and Millerovo;
  • seven Kh-101/Iskander-K cruise missiles from the areas of Engels in the Saratov region and the Kursk region;
  • six Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles from the airspace over the Lipetsk region.
  • The main target of the attack was the city of Lutsk.

Air defense efforts involved:

  • aviation;
  • anti-aircraft missile troops;
  • electronic warfare and drone warfare units;
  • mobile fire groups of Ukraine's Defense Forces.

As of 8:30 a.m. Kyiv time, according to preliminary data, Ukraine's air defense eliminated 718 Russian aerial attack assets, including:

  • 303 destroyed by firepower (296 drones and 7 Kh-101/"Iskander-K" cruise missiles);
  • 415 lost via jamming;

Hits by enemy aerial targets were recorded in 4 locations, while the debris of downed targets fell in 14 locations.

Overnight attack on Ukraine, July 9

Last night, Russian terrorists carried out a massive airstrike on Ukraine using drones and missiles. Explosions sounded in Kyiv and several other cities. However, the primary focus of the enemy's assault was western Ukraine.

Lutsk experienced the most intense drone and missile strike to date. Due to the attack, fires broke out in the city.

Kyiv region was also under attack. One of the enemy's targets was the Brovary district.
