Zelenskyy changes composition of meeting of Staff of Supreme Commander-in-Chief

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has changed the composition of the meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. Its coordinator has become the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (RNBO), Rustem Umerov, according to the relevant decree of the head of state.
According to the president’s decree, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko was added to the personal composition, and Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, was confirmed as the coordinator of the meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
Also, the personal composition approved includes Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal and First Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov.
In addition, former Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksandr Lytvynenko and Minister for Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin were removed from the Staff.
In a separate decree, Zelenskyy appointed Umerov as the head of the National Cybersecurity Coordination Center. According to the staffing schedule, this position is held by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.
Government reshuffle
Recently, changes took place in the Ukrainian government.
On July 17, the Verkhovna Rada approved Yulia Svyrydenko’s appointment as Prime Minister of Ukraine.
Former Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal now heads the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. Meanwhile, Andrii Sybiha remained the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Rustem Umerov was appointed Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, replacing Oleksandr Lytvynenko. Previously, he headed the Ministry of Defense.
In the new government, Minister of Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin lost his post and was returned to Ukroboronprom; Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Olha Stefanishyna, along with several others, also left their positions.
