President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy says that the discussion of security guarantees for Ukraine will take place in detail after 30 days of the temporary ceasefire. During this period, it is planned to develop steps.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the issue of Ukraine's security guarantees discussed during the talks in Jeddah.

According to him, all the provisions reflected in the joint statement following the meeting are positive signals. In particular, they contain provisions on Ukraine's security.

“I received maximum details by phone from my team. Still, we will talk about security guarantees in more detail if there is silence for 30 days,” the President said.

Zelenskyy emphasized that this period is necessary for the agreed steps on security guarantees to be documented. Ukraine has its proposals, but the key is to coordinate these formats with its allies.

“We have our proposals, but we need to put on paper the agreed steps by our allies and the formats of certain security guarantees that Ukraine will have after the end of this war,” he emphasized.

Ceasefire proposal

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed possible first steps toward peace by proposing a ceasefire in the air and on the water, meaning an end to air attacks and hostilities at sea.

Yesterday, during talks between the US and Ukrainian delegations in Saudi Arabia, Kyiv announced its readiness for a 30-day complete ceasefire, expecting a similar step from Russia. Brussels supported the joint statement, which envisages a ceasefire agreement, humanitarian initiatives, and the resumption of intelligence and security assistance.
