Zelenskyy announces successful test of Ukrainian ballistic missile
Ukraine has successfully tested its ballistic missile. Details about the missile have not yet been disclosed, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"There was a positive test of the first Ukrainian ballistic missile. I congratulate our defense industry on this," he says.
Zelenskyy says he can not disclose details about the missile.
The President also notes that he was hesitant to disclose this information. "I thought it was too early to talk about it. But I wanted the public to value the people who work 24/7 at defense enterprises," he says.
Zelenskyy also recalls the Palianytsia drone missile and noted that these are very serious things.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announces the first successful use of the Ukrainian Palianytsia drone missile. It happened on Ukraine's Independence Day.
Palianytsia has large wings that allow it to fly over long distances. The weapon will be able to hit targets, particularly at airfields, before the planes have time to take off.
In early August, Zelenskyy spoke with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi. One of the topics of discussion was missile production in Ukraine. In particular, Zelenskyy noted that the decision of the Supreme Council had allocated additional funding for the Ukrainian missile program, which would result in more missiles of Ukraine's production.
