Ukraine’s overarching goal is to produce all the necessary components for air defense systems, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The President said he held a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief on March 30, focused primarily on air defense. According to him, the discussion included a detailed review of contract implementation and procurement.
"And this is not only about countering ballistic threats. It also concerns frontline air defense, anti-drone missiles, and interceptors. Everything will be ensured. We are also working to bring Ukrainian production to a level where all necessary components of air defense systems will be available domestically, including anti-ballistic," Zelenskyy said.
He added that Ukraine is working with several countries on this effort, but did not disclose details.
"But the most important thing is securing licenses, localizing production, and achieving results here in Ukraine. This is the global goal, and we continue working toward it," the President stressed.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, said that the number of interceptor drone sorties and destroyed targets in March increased by nearly 55% compared to February.
It is also reported that the Serhii Sternenko Community Foundation and the manufacturer Wild Hornets have introduced a remote control for Sting interceptor drones, which have already successfully passed initial tests.
In addition, the head of the Brave1 defense cluster announced the launch of sales of X1 Jet and X2 Jet drones on a marketplace, highlighting their unique capabilities and record-breaking speed among Ukrainian drones.
Earlier this month, the Ministry of Defense approved the use of a new Ukrainian interceptor drone, the JEDI Shahed Hunter, capable of automatically detecting and destroying enemy drones.
