Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense has approved the use of the new Ukrainian interceptor drone JEDI Shahed Hunter, which is capable of automatically detecting and destroying enemy drones.

The device receives data from radar stations automatically and independently homes in on the target.

The drone is capable of destroying strike UAVs such as Shahed, Geran, and Gerbera, as well as intercepting reconnaissance drones, including Zala and Supercam.

Its speed exceeds 350 km/h, and it can operate at altitudes of up to 6 km. The drone carries a warhead weighing about 500 grams.

JEDI has vertical takeoff, weighs about 4 kg, and is equipped with day and thermal imaging cameras, allowing it to operate around the clock.

One drone can cover an area of the sky within a radius of up to 40 km.

"Recall that protecting the sky is a priority of Ukraine’s War Plan. The goal is to identify 100% of aerial threats in real time and intercept at least 95% of missiles and drones," the Ministry of Defense emphasized.

In January, another interceptor drone, Octopus, developed within the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was presented in Kyiv.

The device is equipped with an AI-based control system and is designed to counter Shahed-type drones.

The Ministry of Defense noted that the effectiveness of this drone has already been confirmed in combat.
