President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a telephone conversation with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and thanked him for his support of Ukraine, reports the Office of the President.
"The Head of State expressed gratitude for all the support the United Kingdom provides to Ukraine and to our efforts to protect life. The leaders coordinated positions on the diplomatic track regarding Russia’s war against Ukraine in order to reinvigorate substantive diplomacy," the Presidential Office said in a statement.
The office's press center added that Zelenskyy and Starmer agreed on future contacts.
Latest on Ukraine-Russia negotiations
As is known, on May 20, Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about good contacts with the US, on the basis of which he expressed hope for the resumption of peace negotiations with Russia, including with the possible participation of Europeans.
The involvement of European representatives in Ukrainian-Russian negotiations is an expected and fair decision, especially now that Washington is focused on the war in Iran.
Also earlier on Wednesday, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Kyiv had conveyed its signals to London regarding the British government's decision to ease anti-Russian sanctions on diesel and aviation fuel produced from Russian crude oil.
