Zelenskyy after Army chief's report: We are pushing Russians out of Kharkiv region
Ukrainian defenders are gradually pushing Russian troops out of the Kharkiv region. Fighting continues in the region, according to the evening address of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The head of the Ukrainian state mentioned that he discussed the battles in the Kharkiv region with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.
"We are pushing out the Russian army. Gradually. The occupier will not conquer Kharkiv, will not conquer all of our Ukraine," the president stated.
What preceded this
Just yesterday, August 22, Deputy Commander of the 3rd Assault Brigade Maksym Zhorin reported that the unit's fighters had achieved significant results in the Kharkiv region. He specified that successful offensive operations had been carried out there.
Later, the 3rd Assault Brigade detailed that, as a result of counteroffensive actions, Ukrainian defenders had taken control of Russian platoon and company strongholds. The brigade's fighters advanced nearly two square kilometers into the front.
At the same time, the Russian army suffered significant losses. According to the brigade, nearly 300 enemy soldiers were neutralized over three days.
In this way, the defenders managed to pull Russian soldiers away from other directions.
