Will сhange of Ukraine's MoD affect relations with partners: Expert's opinion
The change in the Minister of Defense will not affect relations with partners, as they support Ukraine as a country, not individuals in positions. Moreover, the military bloc responsible for cooperation with our partners has not changed, according to a statement from Oleksandr Musiienko, Head of the Сenter of Military Law Researches.
After the dismissal of the former Minister of Defense, Oleksii Reznikov, and the appointment of Rustem Umerov to the position, the question arises as to whether this rotation will affect Ukraine's relations with its partners.
Despite the change in leadership, the Ministry of Defense continues to rely on the work done by Oleksii Reznikov. In terms of international communication, both formal and informal, everything remains stable.
"Do not expect any significant changes in communication due to the new Minister of Defense of Ukraine. The countries that support us, support Ukraine as a state, not an individual minister or commander-in-chief. The military bloc responsible for cooperation with our partners has not changed," said Oleksandr Musiienko.
Rustem Umerov became the Minister of Defense of Ukraine
On September 6, the Ukrainian Parliament appointed Rustem Umerov, the former head of the State Property Fund, as the new Minister of Defense, replacing Oleksii Reznikov.
On the first day in office, Umerov shared his plans: the Ministry of Defense will soon introduce an electronic military ID, launch a unified registry of conscripts, and digitize the work of military medical examination boards.
