Polish Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Radosław Sikorski, during a speech in Sejm, called for the country to prepare for ''war of our grandfathers' scale'' scenarios, notes RMF24.

During a speech in the Sejm, Sikorski discussed war in Ukraine and threats to Poland and all of Europe amid new geopolitical realities. He recalled assessments by European intelligence officials that Russia could soon dare to attack NATO countries, emphasizing the rising number of sabotage incidents and diversions in Europe, particularly in Poland.
The minister also reminded of the mass Russian drone incursion into Poland and the Kremlin-led disinformation campaign that attempted to blame Ukraine and NATO—similar to sabotage on the railway line near Lublin. Polish Foreign Minister noted the need to be ready for a war of ''scale seen by our grandfathers and great-grandfathers.''
Sikorski added that the Kremlin will likely continue to ''test boundaries,'' and Poland must unite and build resilience, including against manipulative information influence. ''Situation is serious. Awareness of danger can paralyze or mobilize. We cannot afford paralysis or to state that 'this is not our war'. Security is a prerequisite for achieving all other state goals,'' he emphasized.
Sikorski also recalled that among the civilians killed in the war was a Polish citizen, 7-year-old Amelia, who died with her mother in Ternopil.
''Putin does not want peace, only surrender. If Ukraine were defeated, the threat from Russia would not decrease, but rather increase,'' the Minister noted.
Unknown drones in Poland
After the mass penetration of Russian drones into Polish territory on September 10 last year, drones became a common occurrence for the country. Warsaw reacted promptly, and Europe began strengthening defense measures after realizing the reality of the threat from Moscow.
Recently, an unknown drone fell on the territory of a military unit in the small Polish town of Leźnica Wielka. No one was injured, and no damage was recorded. Another drone fell on the territory of a military unit in Przasnysz. Initially, there were suspicions of espionage, but they were not confirmed. The object turned out to be a toy drone with no SIM or memory card. Previously, another unidentified military drone crashed near residential buildings in Lekow, central Poland.
