Polish authorities have dismissed claims of a serious threat after a drone fell on a military base in the town of Płońsk. Following the incident, it was suggested that the device could have been a reconnaissance drone, according to the Polish Military Gendarmerie on X.

According to preliminary data, the object turned out to be a toy drone without a SIM card or memory card, the authorities reported.

An inspection revealed that the device had no technical means for collecting data or surveillance and caused no damage. Ministry of National Defense spokesperson Janusz Sejmej emphasized that it was an ordinary children’s drone that may have accidentally entered the military facility.

Earlier reports by Polish media suggesting a reconnaissance or spy drone were not confirmed, the spokesperson clarified. Further procedural actions are currently ongoing.

Previously, an unknown military drone crashed near a residential area in central Poland, in the settlement of Łęków.

Drones have become a common occurrence in Poland since the mass Russian drone attacks on the country on September 10 last year. Warsaw responded immediately, and Europe later began strengthening its defenses as the threat from Moscow became increasingly real.
