'Very fragile': Trump comments on peace talks amid Witkoff's visit to Russia

Negotiations between Russia and Ukraine are moving forward, but the situation remains fragile, stated US President Donald Trump.
"We're going to Rome, where we'll be attending the funeral of Pope Francis... we're going to meet with a lot of the foreign leaders," Trump said.
The American leader assured that foreign leaders themselves expressed a desire to meet with him.
"Trade deals are going very well," he said.
Ukraine-Russia talks
Trump noted that peace talks between Russia and Ukraine are moving forward.
"I think Russia and Ukraine are coming along, we hope. Very fragile," he emphasized.
It’s important to note that Ukraine and Russia are not holding direct negotiations to end the war. However, two rounds of talks between Ukraine and the US, as well as between Washington and Moscow, have already taken place this year in Saudi Arabia.
Additionally, earlier this week, negotiations took place in London involving Ukraine, the US, the UK, France, and Germany.
Furthermore, today, April 25, US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff met with Russian President Vladimir Putin for the fourth time.

Trump's tariffs
Earlier this month, US President Donald Trump imposed tariffs on imports from nearly all countries around the world. These tariffs range from 10% to 49%, depending on the country.
However, the highest tariffs were imposed on China.
Just a few days later, Trump's tariffs hit the US stock market. Despite losses in the trillions of dollars, the White House leader did not back down from his tariff policy, comparing it to medicine.
However, just days after that, the US put additional tariffs on hold for several countries.
Trump announced a 90-day pause and a significantly reduced mutual tariff of 10% during this period, which took effect immediately. He stated that more than 75 countries should reach out to US representatives to resolve issues related to trade, trade barriers, and tariffs.
It’s worth noting that Trump did not rule out extending the tariff pause.
