US will hold peace negotiations with both Putin and Zelenskyy - Pentagon chief

The United States of America will conduct peace negotiations to establish peace in Ukraine with both Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin, states US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.
When asked by a journalist whether Hegseth could guarantee that no agreement would be imposed on Ukraine, he replied that it was not his decision. The head of the Pentagon noted that the negotiations would be led by US President Donald Trump.
At the same time, he noted that the president had already spoken with both Putin and Zelenskyy.
"Any negotiation... will be had with both," he said.
Trump's negotiations with Putin and Zelenskyy
Yesterday evening, Trump and Putin held a phone conversation during which, among other things, they discussed the war in Ukraine.
After that, the US president announced plans to meet with the Russian President, while the Kremlin claimed that the leaders had allegedly instructed their aides to begin preparations for the meeting.
Immediately after speaking with Putin, the American leader spoke with President Zelenskyy.
Following both conversations, Trump stated that he had "great talks" with Russia and Ukraine and noted that, in his view, there is a "good possibility to end the war."
At the same time, Trump expressed the opinion that Putin supposedly "wants peace."
