US President Donald Trump said Washington intends to do business with both Kyiv and Moscow after the end of Russia's war against Ukraine, according to DRM News.

"We'll certainly do business with Ukraine and with Russia after this war ends, I would think," the US president said in response to a journalist's question.

Notably, Trump wasn't the only one to speak to the press; his wife, US First Lady Melania Trump, also joined him. During the exchange, a member of the media asked whether they planned to visit Ukraine. Melania replied, "We'll see." Trump immediately added that such a visit could take place.

Journalists also asked Trump whether he had spoken with billionaire Elon Musk about the situation in Ukraine. The journalists were likely referring to Starlink. Trump said he had, but declined to share details of their conversation.

Other essential details to know

A day earlier, US President Donald Trump expressed hope that the war in Ukraine was nearing its end and suggested that the United States could impose tariffs on both Ukraine and Russia if the parties failed to reach a peace agreement.

The media also reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had announced a trilateral meeting between Ukraine, the United States, and Russia to discuss ending the war in the first half of November. The Kremlin also confirmed the meeting would take place, while media reports named Abu Dhabi or Switzerland as possible venues.

As for Starlink, Ukraine restored satellite terminal speeds on October 24. Later that day, billionaire Elon Musk said he opposed using his service for offensive military operations and claimed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had allegedly violated this condition. However, Zelenskyy's adviser Serhii "Flash" Beskrestnov refuted the claim, explaining how the restrictions work and why Ukraine cannot use Starlink for mid-strike operations in the first place.
