US Vice President: Peace between Ukraine and Russia must be pursued now

The US government believes that the continuation of Russia’s war against Ukraine benefits no one. Therefore, efforts to achieve peace must begin now, stated US Vice President J.D. Vance.
According to Vance, a full-scale war would not have started if Donald Trump had been president. He also claimed that neither Europe, nor Joe Biden’s administration, nor Ukrainians had any real path to victory.
Vance added that Trump deals with reality and facts, listing five key facts:
- Europe's policies on migration and censorship "offend the sensibilities of most Americans" and its defense policy relies excessively on the US.
- Russia has a massive numerical advantage in manpower and weapons in Ukraine, and this advantage will persist regardless of future Western aid.
- The US "retains substantial leverage" over both sides of the conflict.
- Ending the war requires talks with those involved in its start and continuation.
- The conflict "has placed and continues to place stress on tools" of US governance tools, from military stockpiles to sanctions and beyond.
Vance concluded that prolonging the war is bad for Russia, Ukraine, Europe, and the United States.
"Given the above facts, we must pursue peace, and we must pursue it now. President Trump ran on this, he won on this, and he is right about this," he emphasized.
Negotiations in Saudi Arabia
US President Donald Trump has repeatedly said that Russia's war against Ukraine must end.
This week in Saudi Arabia, American and Russian officials held talks to discuss Russia's war against Ukraine.
The parties agreed to appoint teams that would be in charge of contacts to resolve the war.
After the talks in Saudi Arabia, US President Donald Trump made several statements that resembled Russian propaganda. In particular, he called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy a “dictator without elections.”
