On the night of Sunday, September 21, a mass shooting occurred in the northwest part of Indianapolis, leaving at least two people dead and five others injured, according to WRTV.

The incident reportedly took place around 2:00 a.m. near the 6800 block of Shore Terrace, close to the exit from 38th Street onto Interstate I-465.

Police found five individuals with gunshot wounds in the parking lot where the shots were fired. Two of them died at the scene, while the remaining three were hospitalized at local medical facilities.

It was later reported that two more victims sought help on their own: one reached a hospital, while the other went to a fire station, where he received first aid.

Police have launched a large-scale investigation and urged witnesses or anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.

According to law enforcement, there may have been a conflict or verbal altercation at the scene before the shooting, but the exact circumstances are still being investigated. No information about suspects or arrests has been released so far.

This tragedy marks yet another instance of mass violence that has shaken Indianapolis, a city that in recent years has seen a rise in gun-related crimes.

Recent high-profile crimes in the US

Earlier, a party at a club in New Hampshire ended in a shooting. Sky Meadow Country Club is considered a prestigious venue, typically hosting parties, weddings, and sporting events. This incident came as a shocking surprise to the quiet city of Nashua, known as a peaceful place to live and relax, where such incidents are extremely rare.

Additionally, on Wednesday, September 17, a deadly shooting occurred in North Codorus, York County, Pennsylvania, resulting in the deaths of three law enforcement officers and leaving two others seriously injured.
