On the evening of Saturday, September 20, 2025, a shooting took place at the upscale Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, New Hampshire, according to the Associated Press.

At around 7:30 PM local time, gunfire erupted at the upscale Sky Meadow Country Club, located about 70 kilometers (45 miles) northwest of Boston, just across the Massachusetts border.

Witnesses reported that guests fled the building in panic as club staff called police and emergency services.

According to the New Hampshire State Police, several people were killed by gunfire. Local authorities confirmed that all the wounded received medical treatment, but declined to provide details on the number or severity of injuries.

Police also said surveillance footage confirmed the presence of a single shooter, who was quickly apprehended.

A large-scale operation was launched during the search, and the neighboring town of Dunstable, Massachusetts, even issued a shelter-in-place order to protect residents while the suspect was being tracked.

New Hampshire law enforcement, together with Massachusetts police and federal agencies, are investigating the circumstances of the shooting and the suspect’s motives.

The incident came as a shock to the quiet city of Nashua, known as a peaceful place to live and visit, where such events are extremely rare. Sky Meadow Country Club is considered an exclusive venue, regularly hosting parties, weddings, and sporting events.

Reaction from authorities and community

US Representative Maggie Goodlander of New Hampshire said she is closely following developments.

"My heart goes out to the victims, their families, and the entire Nashua community as it faces this tragedy," she said.

The shooting comes amid a series of high-profile killings that have pushed crime to the forefront of America’s political agenda.

On Wednesday, September 17, a deadly shooting in North Codorus Township, York County, Pennsylvania, left three police officers dead and two others seriously wounded.

Donald Trump has threatened to declare a state of emergency in Washington if federal authorities allow crime to resurge after the city government decides to cut cooperation with immigration enforcement.
