US allocates new military aid for Ukraine worth $7.9 billion - Zelenskyy

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the United States has allocated $7.9 billion in new military aid to Ukraine and imposed new sanctions against Russia.

"I am grateful to US President Joseph Biden, the US. Congress, and both parties—Republicans and Democrats—as well as the entire American people for today's announcement of significant defense aid to Ukraine, amounting to a total of $7.9 billion, and for imposing sanctions against Russia," the president stated.

The head of state also thanked the United States for finding a way to allocate the remaining (about $5.9 billion) previously designated funds to ensure that the president's authority to allocate aid would not expire before the end of the US fiscal year.

Later, the Pentagon announced that it was allocating $2.4 billion to provide Ukraine with weapons under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI).

US President Joe Biden signed a decree ordering $5.5 billion in military aid to Ukraine from US stockpiles.

Germany approves additional €400 mln for military aid to Ukraine

On Wednesday, September 25, the Bundestag approved the German government's proposal to increase funding for military support to Ukraine. The total support amounts to approximately €400 million, according to the federal government of Germany.

These funds will allow for the purchase of additional air defense systems, tanks, drones, ammunition, and spare parts, effectively strengthening the Ukrainian armed forces in their defense efforts.

"There will be no ceasefire in the north. We will continue to fight against the Hezbollah terrorist organization with all our strength until victory and the safe return of the residents of the north to their homes," Katz stated.
