The suspension of intelligence sharing between the US and Ukraine is already affecting the battlefield situation. According to Western media, Ukrainian operations in Russia's Kursk region have suffered the most, informs SkyNews.

Senior officials from Western countries and Ukraine said the halt in US intelligence sharing has contributed to Russian forces advancing on the battlefield, according to the report.

Meanwhile, Time writes that Ukrainian forces cannot use “some of their best weapons systems” due to the suspension of US military aid.

A source in the Ukrainian government told the outlet that Ukrainian operations in the Kursk region have been hit the hardest. In addition, Ukrainian forces have lost the ability to detect Russian aircraft approaching Ukraine’s borders.

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) stated that it could not independently verify this information. However, it assessed that a complete halt to US intelligence sharing would “seriously undermine” Ukraine’s ability to defend itself against Russian offensive operations.

Suspension of US-Ukraine intelligence sharing

Recently, it was revealed that the US has completely stopped sharing intelligence with Ukraine, a move confirmed by the CIA director. Earlier reports indicated that Washington had only restricted data transfers related to strikes on Russian territory while continuing to share information on Russian positions.

At the same time, Minister of the Armed Forces of France Sébastien Lecornu stated that France is ready to replace the US in providing intelligence to Ukraine.

Additionally, media reports suggest that the UK will continue supplying intelligence to Ukraine even after the suspension of exchanges between Kyiv and Washington. However, its capabilities are not as extensive as those of the US.

On March 8, The Telegraph reported that following the suspension of US intelligence sharing, Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region faced the threat of encirclement. This has complicated attack forecasting and defense coordination.

A junior sergeant who spoke with The Telegraph said Ukraine is even considering withdrawing troops from Kursk to avoid further losses.
