Director of the Central Intelligence Agency John Ratcliffe has expressed doubts that Iran will comply with a future nuclear agreement. He has already briefed US President Donald Trump on the issue and backed up his concerns with intelligence findings, Axios reported.

According to the media outlet's sources, Ratcliffe told Trump and other senior officials that intelligence gathered by US intelligence agencies raised serious doubts about Iran's willingness to make the nuclear concessions sought by the United States as part of any final agreement.

According to the intelligence, the way Iranian officials were discussing the deal among themselves was inconsistent with what they were telling the mediators and the US.

"The intelligence reflects that the Iranian intentions are not in line with their commitments under the deal," one source said.

Earlier, Trump announced an end to hostilities between the United States and Iran. The agreement is expected to be signed on Friday in Switzerland. The US leader said that the Strait of Hormuz is already beginning to reopen because the United States has lifted the blockade on Iranian vessels, while Tehran will not target oil tankers.

Details of the agreement have not yet been disclosed. However, there are reports that discussions regarding Iran's nuclear program will take place after the ceasefire agreement is signed.

Trump himself stated that he is prepared to resume military action if Tehran does not agree to the conditions regarding its nuclear program.
