The US has uncovered a network that helps Iran produce drones and ballistic missiles, which also includes front Ukrainian companies, according to the US Department of the Treasury.

The US has announced sanctions against 32 individuals and entities that assist Iran in developing missile and drone production.

The sanctions target companies from Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Türkiye, China, India, Germany, and Ukraine, "that operate multiple procurement networks supporting Iran’s ballistic missile and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) production."

According to the US Treasury, one of the uncovered networks has been coordinating Iran’s procurement of ballistic missile components, including acid from China, since 2023.

Another network helped an Iranian state-owned company procure components for drones, using front companies in Ukraine — GC Imperativ Ukraina LLC and Ecofera LLC.

"Across the globe, Iran exploits financial systems to launder funds, procure components for its nuclear and conventional weapons programs, and support its terrorist proxies," said Under Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence John K. Hurley.

Earlier reports noted that Iran has stepped up the revival of its ballistic missile program, despite the re-imposition of UN sanctions in September.

In October, the US State Department also announced additional sanctions to support UN restrictions on Iran for refusing to halt its nuclear weapons development.
