Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has no information about an alleged pause in the provision of energy assistance to Ukraine by the United States, said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi, according to Ukrinform.

"We will check the media reports once again to understand exactly what they refer to, and I think we will be able to give a separate answer as to whether they correspond to reality," Tykhyi said.

He also emphasized that Ukraine is working at all levels to activate all available formats through which additional energy assistance can be obtained to restore infrastructure destroyed by Russian strikes.

This concerns energy assistance to Ukraine for about $250 million allocated by former US President Joe Biden, which allegedly has not yet been disbursed due to the closure of USAID.

According to Reuters, funds allocated for the import of liquefied natural gas and the restoration of energy facilities damaged by Russia's massive attacks have been frozen.

Under the previous US president, USAID had informed Congress of its intention to allocate at least part of this money. However, the Trump administration's decision to shut down the agency left the funding in limbo.

Energy assistance to Ukraine

In January alone, Ukraine received energy assistance from nearly two dozen countries.

In particular, Ukraine received generators, mobile boiler houses, industrial boilers, and uninterruptible power supply stations to ensure the operation of critical and social infrastructure. At the same time, some countries focused on providing financial support to Ukraine's energy sector.
