Four more countries will provide Ukraine with energy aid packages, including generators, according to Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
According to her, in the coming days, Ukraine will receive new shipments from Azerbaijan, Slovakia, and Czechia, which will include:
-
Generators
-
Transformers
-
Cables
-
Medical equipment
-
Other humanitarian aid
In addition, Ireland will contribute €25 million next week to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.
"We thank all our partners for their ongoing support and the aid already provided: contributions to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine and backup energy equipment," Svyrydenko said.
She added that all aid will be directed toward restoring heat and electricity in Ukrainian homes and repairing energy infrastructure damaged by the recent intensive Russian attacks.
Energy aid for Ukraine
Yesterday, January 19, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced that Ukraine has already received energy aid from 17 countries.
Specifically, the assistance has included generators, mobile boilers, industrial boilers, and uninterruptible power supply stations to support critical and social infrastructure.
Some partners have focused specifically on financial support for Ukraine’s energy sector.
Ukraine is facing an extremely difficult electricity situation after a series of Russian attacks. Russia damaged both generation and distribution facilities, with the most severe impact in Kyiv and several other regions.
