All the Ramstein meetings have entailed additional commitments for the United States with regard to Ukraine. This time we can expect the same, says White House National Security Communications Adviser John Kirby.

Kirby noted that this is not the first time the Ramstein meeting will be held online.

“It's not the first time it's been held online. But now the president wants to have a discussion at the level of the leaders of the countries,” the White House adviser said.

He noted that this would be another chance for the United States to show leadership and our commitment to providing Ukraine with what it needs on the frontline.

“There hasn't been a single meeting at Ramstein where there haven't been additional commitments. I think that's to be expected,” Kirby summarized.

In late October, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a new meeting in the Ramstein format.

The previous meeting was postponed due to bad weather. At that time, US President Joe Biden was the first to postpone his visit to Germany, where he was supposed to chair the Ramstein meeting.

Later, White House Press Secretary Karin Jean-Pierre said that the Ramstein meeting would take place in November.
