Negotiation process on ending war

At the beginning of March, the US proposed a 30-day ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia. The Ukrainian side supported this proposal, but the Kremlin has yet to give a direct agreement. Moreover, the Russians put forward a number of additional conditions, including the cessation of mobilization and halting the supply of Western weapons to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Last weekend in Riyadh, another round of negotiations between the US and the delegations of Ukraine and Russia took place. During the meeting, discussions focused on a ceasefire in the Black Sea region to ensure free navigation and to stop attacks on Ukrainian ports.

On March 25, the US held talks with the Russian delegation, which lasted about 12 hours. After these discussions, the sources revealed that additional talks with the Ukrainian side were planned.

Following the talks, officials in the administration of US President Donald Trump expressed hope of reaching a ceasefire agreement by April 20. However, the United States does not rule out the possibility of shifting these deadlines.

Furthermore, today the US and Russia are preparing a joint statement after the talks in Saudi Arabia. Although the content of the statement has not been revealed yet, the American side in Riyadh conveyed optimistic signals to President Trump’s administration regarding the negotiations.
