The United States is transferring $3.4 billion to Ukraine. These funds are intended to support the Ukrainian budget, stated US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, according to Reuters.

Yellen emphasized that since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion, the United States has provided Ukraine with just over $30 billion in budgetary assistance. Most of these funds are used to support the functioning of the Ukrainian government.

"Ukraine’s success is in America’s core national interest. We must not retreat in this effort," she said.

She specified that direct budgetary assistance to Ukraine from the United States is provided on the condition of reforms aimed at strengthening the rule of law, increasing transparency and efficiency of public institutions, and intensifying anti-corruption efforts.

New aid from the United States

Today, on December 30, US President Joe Biden also announced that his country would provide Ukraine with a new military aid package, which will include weapons worth $2.5 billion.

The US President also clarified that the United States is currently delivering hundreds of thousands of artillery shells, thousands of missiles, and hundreds of armored vehicles to Ukraine.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal also noted that the United States will provide Ukraine with $15 billion.
