Unknown drones attacked Russia's Saratov region - Locals reported explosions

Residents of Russia’s Saratov region reported around ten explosions in the sky after authorities had declared a drone threat in the area, according to Russian channels.
Residents of Russia’s Saratov region said they woke up in the middle of the night to loud bangs and air raid sirens.
Soon after, reports began circulating about drones flying in the sky. Local authorities warned of ongoing air defense operations and advised residents to stay away from windows.
Saratov Airport was temporarily closed "for safety reasons," while the neighboring Penza region activated the Cover security plan.
The Engels Airbase, located in the Saratov region, is where Russia launches its Tu-95 and Tu-160 strategic bombers used for missile strikes on Ukraine.
Saratov also hosts an oil refinery specializing in the production of gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, various grades of bitumen, vacuum gas oil, sulfur, and over 20 types of petroleum products. The city has been periodically targeted by unidentified drones.
Previous attacks on Saratov
The last reported drone attack on Saratov occurred on the night of November 3, when explosions were heard, and the local oil refinery came under strike. Some Telegram channels later reported a fire near the AVT-6 installation located on the refinery’s territory.
Earlier, on the night of October 16, air raid sirens went off in Saratov, and explosions were heard as air defense systems were reportedly active. Locals described seeing unidentified aerial vehicles resembling drones in the night sky.
Another attack took place on the night of September 20, when a series of drone strikes caused a fire. Residents reported hearing between five and seven explosions, the sound of engines overhead, air raid sirens, and visible flashes in the sky.
