Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, today, on October 17, showed the launch of ATACMS missiles for the first time, according to his statement.

"ATACMS. The work of our soldiers," the message says.

The video shows the launch of three long-range missiles.

The Commander-in-Chief expressed gratitude to the military for their service and to the partners for their support.

Strikes on occupied airfields

On October 17, Ukrainian forces carried out missile strikes on airfields in the temporarily occupied territories of Luhansk and Berdyansk.

According to the Special Operations Forces, the attack resulted in the destruction of nine Russian helicopters, air defense systems, ammunition depots, and more.

It was later reported by The Wall Street Journal that Ukrainian forces had used ATACMS missiles for the attack with a range of approximately 160 kilometers (the standard range is 300 kilometers). According to journalists, these missiles were provided to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in limited quantities.

Today, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukrainian military personnel were already using American long-range ATACMS missiles against Russian occupiers.
