The first group of Ukrainian teenagers and their accompanying persons who suffered as a result of the June 13 accident in France returned to Ukraine. A total of 40 people have arrived, according to the Department of Consular Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

Throughout the time after the accident, Ukrainian diplomats in France, Austria, and at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Uzhhorod coordinated the assistance, keeping in touch with hospitals, organizing logistics, and escorts.

The return took place by train: Paris - Vienna - Chop - Chernivtsi.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine emphasized that this difficult evacuation was made possible thanks to the coordinated work of doctors, rescuers, police, volunteers, railroad workers, and representatives of Ukrainian communities abroad.

9 more Ukrainians remain in French hospitals. Consuls continue to keep in touch with them and their doctors.

France bus accident

On June 13, an accident involving a bus carrying children occurred in the French department of Sarthe. The accident killed at least 4 people and injured over forty others with varying degrees of severity.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that 3 of the dead were Ukrainians, and 2 more were in serious condition.

Following the accident, one of the two Ukrainian drivers who was driving the bus at the time of the June 13 accident was formally charged with involuntary manslaughter and causing bodily harm.
