Ukrainian Special Forces hit Russian weapons ships in Caspian Sea

The Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, together with the Russian resistance movement Chernaya Iskra, carried out an operation in the Caspian Sea, as a result of which two Russian tankers were hit, according to the Special Forces' press service.
It is noted that as a result of the special operation, Special Operations Forces operators struck two Russian vessels in the Caspian Sea near the coast of the Republic of Kalmykia that were transporting weapons and military equipment.
The Russian cargo vessels that were hit were Kompozitor Rakhmaninov and Askar-Saridzha. Russia uses both ships for military purposes, and they are under US sanctions, as they were involved in supplying military cargo between Iran and Russia.
Representatives of the Russian resistance movement Chernaya Iskra assisted in carrying out the operation. The partisans provided the Special Operations Forces with detailed information about the routes and cargo of both Russian vessels.
"The Special Operations Forces continue to take asymmetric actions to undermine the offensive capabilities of the Russian army," the statement says.
This is already the second successful strike by Ukraine against Russian targets in the Caspian Sea over the past two days.
On December 11, drones of Ukraine's Security Service halted operations at an oil production platform in the Caspian Sea. This was the first time Ukraine struck a Russian facility involved in oil production in this region.
In addition, on December 10, it became known that a sanctioned Russian tanker was hit in the Black Sea. It belongs to the so-called shadow fleet. According to preliminary information, the vessel was put out of operation.
This is already the third attack on Russia's shadow fleet vessels — on November 29, Ukrainian Sea Baby naval drones struck two Russian shadow fleet tankers, Kairo and Virat, in the waters of the Black Sea.
