Long-range drones of the Alpha Special Operations Center of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) successfully struck two key oil and gas sector facilities in Russia at Temryuk port and in Orenburg, SBU sources said.
It is noted that the first target of the attack was the seaport of Temryuk in Russia's Krasnodar region, where two oil product storage tanks are burning. The fire covers about 2,000 square meters. A total of 70 people and 18 units of equipment have been involved in firefighting efforts.
As a result of drone strikes, a gas fire also broke out at the Orenburg gas processing plant. This is the world's largest gas chemical complex, processing 37.5 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
It is known that a pipeline of the 3U-70 unit rack, which purifies raw gas from hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide, was damaged. The technological process at the facility was suspended. The FIRMS service, which tracks fires worldwide in real time, recorded fires at the plant.
"The SBU continues systematic strikes on Russia's oil and gas sector facilities. Each of them hits the Russian budget, reduces foreign currency revenues, and complicates logistics and fuel supplies for the army,” an SBU source said.
Drone strikes on Russia
Yesterday, December 25, drones attacked the port of Temryuk in Russia's Krasnodar region, resulting in fires at two oil product storage tanks.
In addition, damage to a pipeline at one of the terminals in the Temryuk district was recorded in recent days following a drone incident.
Moreover, on the night of November 30, drones attacked the Slavyansk oil refinery. Authorities reported falling drone debris, which caused damage to the refinery.
