Ukrainian publisher comes under Russian strike again, with its office damaged in Kyiv

Overnight on August 16, a Russian ballistic missile attack on Kyiv damaged the office of the Nash Format (Our Format) publishing house near Pochaina subway station. Parts of the walls were blown out in several offices, while the ceiling and furniture were damaged.

Parts of the walls were blown out in several offices, the ceiling was damaged, and furniture was destroyed and displaced. No employees were injured. The publishing house team is currently assessing the consequences of the attack and the extent of the damage.

Second strike on same publisher
This is not the first time Russian attacks have damaged Nash Format's infrastructure.
On July 4, 2025, the publishing house's warehouse and online store were damaged in a Russian attack on Kyiv.
The blast wave and debris destroyed part of the facade, shattered windows, and damaged the ceilings and warehouse facilities. Some of the books were also damaged by the attack and firefighting efforts.
The estimated losses from the shutdown and relocation at the time ranged from $30,000 to $100,000. The publishing house fully resumed operations a month and a half after the attack.
As previously reported, the Russian Federation attacked Kyiv overnight with ballistic missiles, injuring three people.
The Pochaina book market was also damaged during Russia's missile attack on Kyiv. Part of the market was completely destroyed by fire, while rescuers were still extinguishing the blaze during the day. The firefighting effort was complicated by flammable materials and repeated air raid alerts.
