Ukrainian soldiers destroyed more than 100 units of armored vehicles of the Russian invaders in the Avdiivka direction in December, according to Vitalii Barabash, head of the Avdiivka City Military Administration.

"The guys have counted, in December alone, more than 100 units of armored vehicles were destroyed," says Barabash.

According to him, for several days the Russians were actively advancing with their equipment, as weather conditions allowed it. But now it's thawing again, and yesterday they hardly used any equipment.

"Before that, they were really traveling in columns for several days. We say that they shot at our logistics, and our guys also shot at the directions where the enemy was trying to move. As a result, a large number of vehicles do not even have time to reach their positions," adds the ACMA head.

Russian losses in war against Ukraine

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia's losses in the war against Ukraine as of Friday morning, January 19, amounted to 920 occupiers, bringing the total number of Russian army losses since the beginning of the invasion to 374,520. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 20 tanks, 19 artillery systems, and 35 armored personnel carriers.

In particular, over the past day, Ukrainian soldiers eliminated over 400 Russian occupiers in the Tavria direction. The Armed Forces also destroyed 42 pieces of enemy military equipment.

Russian offensive on Avdiivka

In early October, Russian occupiers intensified fighting near Avdiivka. This offensive is considered the largest since 2014.

Back in mid-December, according to the White House, Russian terrorists suffered over 13,000 casualties along the Avdiivka-Novopavlivka axis. In particular, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed over 220 combat vehicles.

As Vitalii Barabash, head of the Avdiivka City Military Administration, said earlier, logistics remained the biggest problem for the city. Food and other essentials are delivered via only one road, which is dangerous.
