White House reveals Russian losses in Avdiivka since October: Over 13000 soldiers, 220 combat vehicles
The Ukrainian military has managed to neutralize more than 13,000 Russian soldiers near Avdiivka since the beginning of the hostile advance in the city's vicinity, ongoing since October, says the spokesperson for the US National Security Council, Adrienne Watson.
"Since launching its offensive in October, we assess that the Russian military has suffered more than 13,000 casualties along the Avdiivka-Novopavlivka axis and over 220 combat vehicle losses-the equivalent of six maneuver battalions in equipment alone," Watson stated.
She clarified that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin continues to aspire to conquer Ukraine, but the attempts by the aggressor country to advance have not resulted in strategic success.
According to Watson, the Russians are currently counting on a military deadlock that could last throughout the winter, hoping it will weaken Western support for Ukraine and provide Russia with an advantage despite their losses and the continuous shortage of trained personnel, ammunition, and equipment.
"Putin is clearly watching what happens in Congress – and we need Congress to act this month to support Ukraine in its time of need," noted the spokesperson.
Russian offensive near Avdiivka
It's worth recalling that Russian occupiers have been continuing their offensive near Avdiivka for several months, attempting to encircle and gain control of the city. A month ago, British intelligence reported a 90% increase in losses for the aggressor country due to attacks on Avdiivka.
During the same period, the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported significant losses for the occupiers, with 6,500 soldiers left without support in the Avdiivka region since October 10.
