Tavria front update: Equipment and over 400 Russians destroyed

Over the past day, Ukrainian troops eliminated more than 400 Russian occupiers in the Tavria direction. The Ukrainian Armed Forces also destroyed 42 pieces of enemy military equipment, according to the Joint Press Center of the Tavria Defense Forces.
In total, the enemy carried out 56 air strikes in the Tavria direction, conducted 68 combat engagements, and fired 665 artillery rounds.
The threat of the enemy using missile weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles against military and civilian infrastructure remains high.
In the area of responsibility of the Tavria Operational Strategic Group of Troops in the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy, who keeps trying to encircle Avdiivka.
Our soldiers are steadfastly holding the line, inflicting significant losses on the Russian occupiers. Thus, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 27 enemy attacks in the areas of Novokalynove, Novobakhmutivka, and Avdiivka and another 17 attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region over the past day.
In the Maryinka direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to hold back the enemy near Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where they repelled 15 attacks.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, our defenders repelled four enemy attacks west of Staromaiorsk and south of Urozhaine in the Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 5 enemy attacks west of Verbove and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Enemy losses
The total losses of the Russian army in manpower amounted to 431 occupiers.
Ukrainian soldiers also destroyed 27 pieces of enemy military equipment, including:
- 4 tanks;
- 8 armored personnel carriers;
- 1 air defense system;
- 10 UAVs;
- 18 vehicles;
- 1 unit of special equipment.
In addition, the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed 3 enemy ammunition depots.
Frontline situation
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 127 combat engagements took place in the frontline over the last day. The aggressor's troops continue to try to surround and capture Avdiivka in the Donetsk region.
In particular, according to the Institute of War Studies, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are engaged in heavy positional fighting in many parts of the frontline. In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy is actively using armored vehicles to support the infantry but suffers heavy losses.
Russia's losses in the war against Ukraine as of Friday morning, January 19, amounted to 920 occupiers, bringing the total number of Russian army losses since the beginning of the invasion to 374,520. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 20 tanks, 19 artillery systems, and 35 armored personnel carriers.
