Ukraine has repeatedly used long-range capabilities against targets in the temporarily occupied territories. However, Russia began to act only when targets on its territory were hit, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

A spokesperson for the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded to the statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin that the strike on Dnipro with the new medium-range ballistic missile Oreshnik was in retaliation for Western missile strikes on targets in Russia.

Tykhyi said that Putin only began to "panic" when targets in Russian territory were hit, making it clear that he understands the difference between Russian territory and the regions he seeks to seize from Ukraine.

"For clarity: Ukraine has every right under international law to target any legitimate military targets on Russian territory. Ukraine is defending itself in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter. Russia can only blame itself for the consequences of its decision to invade Ukraine," the spokesperson emphasized.

Earlier today, Russian President Vladimir Putin recorded an address to the Russian people, where he claimed that Russia struck Ukrainian territory with the Oreshnik missile.

Putin emphasized that Russia launched a combined strike on a Ukrainian defense facility in response to US and British weapons strikes on Russia.

Additionally, during his address, Putin acknowledged the ATACMS and Storm Shadow missile strikes on Russian territory.
