ATACMS and Storm Shadow missiles hit targets in Russia, striking facilities in the Kursk and Bryansk regions, stated Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Putin said that the strikes were carried out over two days. Specifically, on November 19, six ATACMS missiles were reportedly used, followed by Storm Shadow strikes on November 21.

"Targets in the Kursk and Bryansk regions were hit," he emphasized.

Approval for Western missile strikes on Russia

For months, Ukraine has actively urged European countries and the US to authorize strikes on Russian territory using long-range ATACMS ballistic missiles and Storm Shadow cruise missiles.

Last week, the United States finally granted permission for Ukraine to use ATACMS missiles against targets inside Russia.

On the night of November 19, the Ukrainian Armed Forces conducted their first strike on a military facility in the Bryansk region.

Similarly, the governments of the United Kingdom and France authorized strikes using Storm Shadow missiles, though restricted their use to the Kursk region.

On Wednesday, November 20, it was reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces used Storm Shadow missiles on Russian territory for the first time.

The strike targeted an underground Russian command post in the Kursk region, which allegedly housed North Korean generals.
