UK and France allow Ukraine to strike Russia, but with restrictions - Source
The UK and France allowed Ukraine to use the long-range missiles it had received to attack Russian territory. However, the restrictions were not completely lifted, according to a high-ranking source of RBC-Ukraine in the military-political circle.
As the source stated, London and Paris do not oppose the use of their weapons for strikes on Russia.
However, this approval for using Storm Shadow/SCALP missiles is limited to strikes in the Kursk region.
Rumors of authorization for deeper strikes in Russia
On November 17, Le Figaro reported that France and the UK had allowed Ukraine to use Storm Shadow/SCALP missiles for attacks on Russian territory.
This happened after Ukraine and the United States had granted such permission, according to media reports.
However, Axios later clarified that the US authorization for ATACMS missile strikes was also restricted to the Kursk region.
Meanwhile, Jon Finer, US Deputy National Security Advisor, declined to confirm these rumors.
Ukraine had long urged its allies to allow the use of transferred missiles for strikes on Russia. The restrictions were lifted only after North Korean soldiers began participating in the war on Russia's side.
Washington’s decision may be linked to the fact that, according to recent reports, more than 10,000 North Korean troops have been spotted in the Kursk region.
