Ukrainian Foreign Minister believes Trump's inauguration could speed up peace efforts
Ukraine needs continued support from its partners to establish a just peace more quickly, said Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha in an interview with Tagesschau.
Sybiha emphasized that Ukraine should focus on fast deliveries of weapons. He expressed hope for strong decisions from allies, particularly the lifting of restrictions on the use of long-range weapons.
Sybiha highlighted that Germany's provision of Taurus missiles could significantly impact the frontline situation.
"The decision to provide Ukraine with Taurus cruise missiles is one of those elements that can significantly affect the situation on the battlefield. Combined with other systems, they can be the factor that will radically change the situation on the battlefield," he said.
Additionally, Sybiha referred to the period following Donald Trump's inauguration as a "chance, a momentum, and an additional opportunity for Ukraine" to accelerate peace efforts. He believes this is a common goal for both Ukraine and the United States, with their views aligned on how to achieve it.

During a recent speech to Republican governors, Trump said that Russian President Vladimir Putin had expressed a desire to meet. In particular, he added that the meeting is already being prepared, but did not specify specific dates.
