Ukrainian defenders carried out a series of successful strikes on Russian targets on March 8 and during the night of March 9, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Strike on air defense
According to the General Staff, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked:
-
Radar systems of the S-300 SAM complex near the settlement of Spokiine (temporarily occupied Crimea);
-
Buk-M3 missile system near Lymanchuk (temporarily occupied part of Luhansk region).
Strikes on command posts
Ukrainian forces delivered precise strikes on enemy command and observation posts. In particular, a unit of the Rubikon center near Donetsk was hit.
Command centers in the areas of Zaporizke, Krasnoselivka, and Hoholivka (Zaporizhzhia region) and Zachativka (Donetsk region) were also targeted.
Casualties among personnel
In addition to equipment and headquarters, the Defense Forces struck areas where enemy personnel were concentrated. Explosions were reported in the regions of Rodynske and Poltavka (Donetsk region), as well as Petropavlivka (Kharkiv region).
"The systematic destruction of air defense systems, command posts, and areas where enemy forces are concentrated weakens their ability to command troops and conduct combat operations," the General Staff stated.
The extent of the damage is currently being assessed.
Attack on Shahed drone launch site
Ukrainian forces recently destroyed a base for the storage, preparation, and launch of Shahed drones near Donetsk airport using ATACMS and SCALP missiles.
In addition, Ukrainian defenders struck a UAV command post in the Luhansk region (Dibrova), a command and observation post in the Kharkiv region (Kruhliakivka), and several enemy artillery positions in the Donetsk region.
