Yesterday, July 27, the Ukrainian Defense Forces liberated Kindrativka in the Sumy region. Driving the Russians out of the settlement will allow the Armed Forces of Ukraine to consolidate their positions and halt Russia's advance, says Andrii Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Service of Ukraine.

"Any actions, both defensive and counteroffensive, prevent Russians from advancing deeper into Ukraine. This is visible now along the border, in the Yunakivka and Khotyn communities, where Russians continue to try to advance deeper into the Sumy region," Demchenko says.

According to him, all components of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, both the Armed Forces and the State Border Guard Service, are doing everything possible to stabilize the situation and prevent the Russian troops from advancing.

He notes that after the liberation of Kindrativka, the number of Russian attacks on the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine units in this area has decreased somewhat.

"The level of activity that was seen at the beginning of Russia's operations in the Sumy region is no longer present," the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine spokesperson emphasizes.

Situation in Sumy region

Yesterday, July 27, it became known that the Ukrainian Defense Forces liberated the border village of Kindrativka in the Sumy region, and stabilization measures are currently underway in the settlement.

On July 26, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had managed to thwart the Russian troops' plan in the Sumy region and push back the Russians in this direction.

In recent months, Russian troops have been trying to break through the Ukrainian Armed Forces' defenses and advance in the Sumy region.

However, at the end of June, the State Border Service of Ukraine stated that there had been a significant decrease in the combat activity of Russian troops in the Sumy direction.
