The Ukrainian Defense Forces disrupted the plan of Russian troops in the Sumy region and push the enemy out, according to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"Our active operations in the Sumy region continue, and I am grateful to every unit that is gradually pushing Russian forces out," Zelenskyy said.

Analysts from DeepState reported recently the liberation of the village of Kindrativka in the Sumy region. RBC-Ukraine asked official spokespeople of the Defense Forces for comment, but has not yet received confirmation or denial of this information.

Disruption of Russian plans

The head of state, after a report from Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, said that the Defense Forces managed to disrupt the Russian plan for the Sumy region.

Although this region remains one of the priority areas for the enemy, the Defense Forces consistently block Russian attempts to advance deeper into the Sumy region from the border.

"This week has also brought results in replenishing Ukraine’s “exchange fund.” We continue our actions on Russian territory as well," Zelensky added.

Situation in the Sumy region

Russian troops have been trying to break through the Ukrainian Armed Forces' defense and advance in the Sumy region for the past few months. At the end of June, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine stated that there was a significant decrease in the combat activity of Russian troops in the Sumy region.

On June 26, Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said that the Ukrainian defenders had stopped the Russians in the Sumy region.

Zelenskyy also previously reported that Russia's intentions for the Sumy region were not being fulfilled, as the Armed Forces were disrupting the enemy's plans.

Additional air defense fire groups would soon be formed in the Sumy region to strengthen the protection of the sky.
