"Long-range drones of the SBU's Alpha Special Operations Center struck the Ukhta oil refinery, located in the Komi Republic, 1,750 kilometers from our border," the SBU says.

The strike on the Ukhta oil refinery is a new record for the range of Ukrainian-made drones.

After the strikes, a fire broke out at the oil refinery and heavy smoke filled the air. Preliminary damage was reported to the atmospheric-vacuum tubular unit and the visbreaking unit.

The main purpose of the visbreaking unit is to reduce the viscosity of raw materials to obtain commercial fuel oil and additional light fractions. Together, they are responsible for the primary processing of oil and its distribution into fractions, as well as the production of commercial fuel oil, gasoline, and gas oil.

The Ukhta refinery is part of PJSC Lukoil and processes about 4.2 million tons of oil annually. The plant is involved in supplying the Russian army.
