Ukrainian Defense Forces stopped the Russian advance in the south with successful counterattacks and assaults. They also reduced the gray zone, says Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesperson for the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine.

"We carried out several counterattacks and assaults in some areas of the line of contact. First and foremost, we reduced the so-called gray zone. We did not allow the Russians to storm and achieve success in several directions. In addition, we did not allow them to bring in reinforcement groups," he emphasizes.
Voloshyn adds that, according to Ukrainian intelligence, several Russian units have lost their combat capabilities and ability to conduct offensive operations. Moreover, they are unable to properly prepare reinforcement groups to hold anything.
"We have achieved some success. We have blocked the enemy's advance and are acting in active defense," says the spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces.
Russian strikes with guided aerial bombs
Voloshyn says that about a dozen settlements are suffering from Russian strikes with guided aerial bombs. Among them are the village of Verkhnia Tersa, the city of Orikhiv, and the village of Pokrovske.
"Almost along the entire line of combat, 3-4 guided aerial bombs are flying in every day. The Russians are not currently launching a massive strike on a single point or settlement. Three to five such guided aerial bombs are flying in on almost all settlements along the line of combat," he says.
The spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces also noted that Russia is increasingly striking the city of Zaporizhzhia with guided aerial bombs. He adds that these are sophisticated bombs, as they are equipped with an advanced flight and guidance system, while conventional guided bombs cannot reach the city.
Ukrainian troops are conducting active assault and counterattack operations in the Oleksandrivka direction. Their goal is to stop the Russians' advance toward the Dnipropetrovsk region.
In addition, Voloshyn told RBC-Ukraine that Russian propaganda outlets are publishing distorted maps of the fighting. According to him, they differ significantly from the official information provided by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
