Ukraine's rescuers in Khmelnytskyi hit by deadly secondary explosion after Russian strike

On Wednesday evening, September 9, Russian forces attacked Khmelnytskyi. It is now known that a secondary explosion occurred after the initial strike, resulting in casualties, according to the Telegram post by Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration head Serhii Tyurin and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
According to Tyurin, in Khmelnytskyi, debris from an aerial target shot down by air defense forces fell during the attack, causing a fire on the grounds of one of the markets.
This information was initially known from the evening update, but now the head of the Regional Administration and the State Emergency Service have reported a secondary explosion that resulted in injuries.
"While emergency forces and resources were being deployed at the scene, a secondary explosion occurred. As a result of the blast, four rescuers sustained injuries of varying severity. They were hospitalized, and the fire was extinguished," emergency services summarized.

Other attacks on the city and region
On September 5, Russian forces also attacked Khmelnytskyi, damaging a multi-apartment building and several vehicles parked nearby. Additionally, some enterprises sustained damage.
On the night of September 3, the Khmelnytskyi region came under attack. Later, it became known that shelling caused a fire at a warehouse of a local enterprise, and one person was injured.
Furthermore, on September 2, the Khmelnytskyi district was struck by drones. Fires broke out at a warehouse and on a truck.
