Soldiers of the 425th Skelia Separate Assault Regiment of the Ukrainian Ground Forces captured two Colombians in Pokrovsk who were fighting on Russia’s side, according to a statement from the assault regiment on Telegram.
The assault regiment’s statement says that in Pokrovsk, the regiment’s soldiers captured two Colombian citizens.
"They claim they came to Russia to work. The Russians promised them a salary of $2,500 per month and construction jobs," the post reads.
After the Colombians arrived in Russia's Ufa, their documents were taken, they were given rifles, and without food or water, they were sent to assault Pokrovsk.
Fighting for Pokrovsk
Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi has stated that Ukrainian forces continue to hold the defense of the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration, despite increased pressure from Russian troops.
According to him, after working meetings with corps and unit commanders, a set of measures was determined to strengthen defensive lines and increase the effectiveness of the Defense Forces’ actions.
Earlier, on December 10, the Russian army attempted a breakthrough toward the village of Hryshyne near Pokrovsk, deploying a column of motorized equipment. However, the offensive was repelled, and enemy units suffered targeted strikes from Ukrainian forces.
In addition, the 7th Airborne Corps reported that Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue to carry out tasks to contain the enemy in the Pokrovsk agglomeration.
Thanks to the coordinated actions of the defenders, almost 100% of enemy aerial targets attempting to approach these routes are destroyed.
