Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue carrying out missions to contain Russian troops in the Pokrovsk agglomeration, according to the 7th Air Assault Corps.
At present, units of the Air Assault Forces, assault units, the Unmanned Systems Forces, the Navy, Special Operations Forces, the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Guard, and the National Police are involved in the defensive operation.
Over the past week, total enemy personnel losses amounted to 446 troops, which is 30% higher than in the previous period. The increase in losses is linked to Russia’s full deployment of its operational reserve — three regiments of the 76th Air Assault Division.
Ukrainian forces are conducting an operation to provide aerial cover for ground logistics routes approaching the Pokrovsk agglomeration. Thanks to coordinated defensive actions, nearly 100% of enemy aerial targets attempting to approach these routes are being destroyed.
Situation in Pokrovsk
Russian forces are showing the greatest activity on the western outskirts of the city. Units of Russia’s 76th Air Assault Division are attempting to break through toward the village of Hryshyne, northwest of Pokrovsk, advancing along several routes simultaneously.
Ukraine’s Defense Forces are countering these attempts, cutting off potential advance routes and striking enemy forces with artillery and FPV drones.
Situation in Myrnohrad
On the southeastern outskirts of Myrnohrad, the enemy is increasing pressure. Isolated attempts by Russian forces to infiltrate the approaches to “upper” Myrnohrad have been recorded, but Ukrainian troops — including fighters from the 38th Separate Marine Brigade — are detecting and eliminating sabotage groups.
The Defense Forces are also continuing to stabilize and expand the logistics corridor to Myrnohrad. In the areas of Svitlyi and Rivne, isolated appearances of enemy groups have been recorded, all of which are being promptly neutralized.
Fighting for Pokrovsk
Earlier, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that Ukrainian troops continue to hold the defense of the Pokrovsk–Myrnohrad agglomeration despite growing pressure from the Russian army.
He noted that following meetings with corps and unit commanders, a series of steps had been identified to strengthen defensive positions and improve the effectiveness of Ukraine’s forces. It was also previously reported that on December 10, Russian troops attempted to break through toward the village of Hryshyne near Pokrovsk using a column of motorcycles, but were stopped and struck with precise Ukrainian fire.
