On the night of September 29, the Ukrainian forces attacked a Russian weapons arsenal in the Volgograd region of Russia. The attack was carried out with 120 Ukrainian-made drones, according to RBC-Ukraine sources.

It was a joint operation of the Defense Intelligence, the Special Operations Forces, the Security Service, the Foreign Intelligence Service, and the Armed Forces. The attack targeted an arsenal of missiles, ammunition, and explosives of the 1st category in the village of Kotluban, Volgograd region.

According to Ukrainian intelligence sources, the arsenal was attacked around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 29, using 120 Ukrainian-made kamikaze attack drones of various types. The distance to the target is over 600 kilometers.

According to Russian social media, loud explosions were heard in the area of the hit, followed by a large-scale fire.

“As a result of the hit, ammunition and missile storage sites were hit, which will lead to a shortage of ammunition for the units of the Russian occupation army,” the sources said.

This is not the first time that the Ukrainian military has destroyed Russian ammunition and missile depots. This month, two arsenals in the Tver region were attacked.

The Tikhoretsk arsenal in the Krasnodar region was also attacked. This is one of the largest Russian ammunition storage bases.
