Ukrainian combat aviation has delivered another powerful strike — this time targeting enemy positions in the Zaporizhzhia sector, according to the Telegram channel of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the report, a MiG-29 fighter jet carried out a high-precision strike using guided aerial bombs. As a result, a Russian UAV operator command post, an ammunition depot, and a fuel and lubricants storage facility were destroyed.

The Air Force channel also shared a video of the successful combat operation.

"Thanks to our partners for the high-precision and effective 'arguments'," reads the caption to the video.

What other targets are Ukrainian MiG-29s engaging

The multirole MiG-29 fighter jets are used not only for frontline missions. From time to time, the Air Force reports on operations against Russian Shahed attack drones during raids on Ukraine.

For example, last month they showcased a night combat mission by a pilot with the call sign Yellowtail. His MiG-29 fighter jet destroyed an attack drone during the repulsion of a massive strike on Ukrainian infrastructure.

As a reminder, in recent days, the Unmanned Systems Forces detected a concentration of Russian troops unloading ammunition and passed the coordinates to combat aviation. As a result, a MiG-29 fighter crew carried out a precise strike with an AASM Hammer guided aerial bomb. The ammunition depot and enemy personnel were destroyed.

Before Russia's full-scale invasion, Ukraine had several dozen MiG-29 fighter jets in service. A few units have been lost over the past three years, but the exact number remains unknown.

Poland has long been considered a potential donor of this aircraft model. It is known to have transferred at least some jets for spare parts. In the fall of 2024, the Ukrainian side repeatedly called on partners to hand over MiG-29s being withdrawn from Poland’s armed forces.

In the spring of 2025, then-President Andrzej Duda noted that he might consider a possible transfer if Warsaw received an adequate replacement from its allies. In May, Polish Ambassador Piotr Łukasiewicz said that negotiations were still ongoing.
