The Russian army is trying to cut off Ukrainian forces' logistics in the Pokrovsk direction, but Ukrainian defenders have shown that "this game can be played by two", according to the 7th Corps of the Air Assault Brigade.
"When it comes to the killzone near Pokrovsk, it means the enemy also has complicated logistics. That’s why they increasingly use robotic ground vehicles," Ukrainian troops said.
Defenders of Pokrovsk identified one of the Russian logistics routes and remotely mined it.
In particular, they destroyed a Russian robotic ground vehicle in the area of Shevchenko, located 5 km south of Pokrovsk.
Fighting for Pokrovsk
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia aims to capture Pokrovsk as quickly as possible. It is trying to create the impression that it can establish full control over Donbas.
Currently, fighting is taking place within the town itself, where, according to RBC-Ukraine sources, about a thousand Russian troops have managed to break through.
Previously, the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces reported that Ukrainian soldiers stopped Russia's advance in northern Pokrovsk and prevented the cutting of an important logistics route.
Units of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence (HUR) are carrying out successful operations in the city aimed at expanding fire control over the logistics of the Russian army.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has denied Russian propaganda claims about an alleged encirclement of Pokrovsk.
